Account books, 1812-1850.

Account books consisting of a daybook, Oct 26, 1827-(February 14, 1838)August 6, 1850, and a ledger, 1812-(1833)1846, which record debts and payments in pounds, shillings and pence. Persons named in the over 375 accounts include Stephen Vail. Pierson may have retired in 1836, after which year there are very few entries until 1846-1850. In the latter years accounts pertaining to an aqueduct appear; these entries evidently pertain to renovation of the Morristown Aqueduct which brought water from Morris Township into Morristown. The final entry (dated 1855) in each volume relates to an account which was settled by Pierson's executor.
